Why Westlake Hoops

Why families pick Westlake Hoops.

Small-Group Coaching

Low player-to-coach ratios so every athlete gets real reps, real feedback, and real development — not just gym time.

Skill + Mental Toughness

We train fundamentals and competitive habits side-by-side — ball-handling, finishing, footwork, plus effort, focus, and resilience.

Built for K–8th Grade

Developmental and Advanced tracks designed for the age group, with a clear path from first-time player to middle-school standout.

Austin Roots, Year-Round

Skills Classes, Sunday Open Court, and Fall Select teams — one program your athlete can grow with from grade to grade.

Inside A Skills Class

What a class actually looks like.

A typical Skills Class is built around real reps, not line-ups. Here's what we focus on every session.

  1. Ball-Handling & Footwork

Stationary and on-the-move dribbling, change-of-direction, and footwork patterns — every player on a ball, full reps.

  2. Finishing & Shooting

Form shooting, finishing packages, and game-speed reads broken down with coach feedback after every rep.

  3. Live Play

Small-sided games and live scrimmage where the day's skills get applied at game speed with coaches on the floor.

What Families Say

Real words from real Westlake Hoops families.

I cannot say enough good things about this program. They are incredibly open to feedback, willing to work with the parents to make the experience great for the kids, and have assembled a really talented, hard-working and committed group of coaches. Our daughter has been in the program for about six months now and not only has she improved, but her confidence has grown a ton as well. The coaches work hard to give every kid their attention and give great feedback to help them improve. She also recently attended the summer camp, which was equally fantastic! Highly recommend!

Just wanted to reiterate my appreciation for your training and especially the coaches. KJ came over to me yesterday and was so kind and caring about my son, and I know my son loves Matt and Chico too. They seem like they genuinely care about the kids, which is awesome. Thanks again.
